2001 Ford Excursion Limited review from North America
"Very nice truck. Great family vehicle"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
No real problems, does wander on the road though.
General comments?
Just purchased the Excursion a couple of weeks ago to use as a work truck/ family vehicle. I love the Power Stroke diesel. It has great power and with the superchips performance chip I am getting 26 MPG on the highway and 21 MPG in town. However, it takes a lot of concentration to keep it on the road. It likes to wander back and forth in the lane. This is the first Ford I have ever owned and I don't know if this is because of the solid front axle and the heavy motor or if there is something that needs to be adjusted. It is most noticable at 55 or below. On the highway at 70 + it drives great. I will definately keep the truck if only for the fuel mileage, but my Chevy's were much easier to drive. I have driven other Ford diesel trucks which drove much better so I am inclined to believe this truck just needs something. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate it.
