1994 Ford Explorer Sport 4x4 review from North America
"This car has been nothing but a rusted out lemon!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Clutch at 112K - expected
Fuel pump at 115K
Clutch at 118K - not expected (possible dealer installation at fault)
Water pump at 120K
Rear spring hangers at 134K
At 138K, I believe my clutch is going out again. Found that I am using oil, which seems to be leaking from point that the transmission meets the engine.
Severe rocker panel rust on the driver's side to the point that there is almost no panel anymore.
General comments?
Had a 91 Explorer Sport (auto) previously with minimal problems through 170K and loved it.
Bought this one based on that experience. Has been at least $500 in repairs every year that I have had it, with the next round possibly being up to triple that amount.
