1991 Ford Explorer 2dr sport 4X4 review from North America
"Fantastic, great, reliable dependable 4X4"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Replaced starter at 122,000 miles (my fault it went out, I put the wrong key from another ford vehicle in ignition and broke the lock cylinder and would not shut off starter so I burned it out).
Door handles both sides and driver side door panel broke.
General comments?
I love this explorer, it has been extremely reliable and is a strong work horse, I have driven it all over the country even towing a car back once from ft. worth texas using a tow rope (long story), and it did not give me any problems. great in snow, off roading. however the only complaint I have with a vehicle of this type is all the damn plastic in the interior. other than that this vehicle has always starter, never has broken down and has only been in the shop once for a starter replacement which was my fault to begin with. I purchased a ford expedition eddie bauer and so far so good, I still have my explorer to date.
