I have had this SUV for 3 years now, and it's been a great first car.. although gas is crazy, it just eats it up, so now I'm looking for a more fuel efficient sports car.

There have been many problems with the beast, but for now it's running great and I love it.

Minus the gas part.

I have had a black 92 Explorer Sport for a year and a half now. It's a good car. I commute a lot, and it does well at 80 and above, which I drive at frequently.

Rear end does lock up when you gun it really hard around a corner and break traction for several seconds.

4wd works well for occasional use, get the Warn manual locking hubs if you intend to off road for like an entire day.

It does have an oil leak, and some smoke from the dripping oil evaporates into the air for all the Prius owners to breath, but you can't see that while you're driving.

Overall though, it can take a beating, and I drive it hard, all the time. Very good car for $400.

My 92 had one owner and I bought it with 214,000 miles. I bought it to sell it to a relative who wanted one. After he changed his mind, I just let it sit on my driveway. I had planned to sell it because I did not have much faith in Ford. Shortly after, my car got wrecked, so I started driving the Explorer. I was amazed at how smooth it drove. The interior and exterior were well taken care of. I love this truck. It has changed my perspective on ford. I now have 250,000 miles and the only thing I have replaced, aside from brakes, was the u-joint which ran me $14. I did the work myself. I plan to keep it for as long as I can.
