1993 Ford Explorer XLT review from North America
"Good for a short ride, wouldn't buy again"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
My head gasket was replaced at 60,000 miles.
I have replaced the rotors at 60,000 miles.
The 02 sensors for fuel regulating went out since we had it, there are 2 of them.
The fuel sensor regulator went out.
The car, when at a stop light, will rock back and forth, like it is going to take off.
Sometimes the car, after we just filled it with gas, will act as if it is out of gas, does a shaking thing.
The fuel gauge went out between 60,000 to 62,000 miles.
Front passenger head light, blows within 2 days of replacing it.
Replaced the heater fan motor, but the control went out as well, so can only use it full blast.
General comments?
This car is OK, if you aren't going to drive it often, terrible gas mileage.
Nothing extremely major has really went out on this vehicle.
Although, the transmission, when it is the warmer months, will dump all the transmission fluid out on the ground, even if you are only going 10 miles from home.
Inside of the vehicle is perfect, comfortable, good system.
Great looking vehicle.
Great air conditioning system.
