2002 Ford Explorer XLT review from North America
"Great car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Sense I have had the car the only thing that has gone wrong with it is the rear air A/C unit. The nob that you turn hot to cold makes a little flap in the back move. The electric motor went out on that flap that change the temp.
General comments?
This car has really good power for a V6 SUV.
I raced a older suburban and beat it.
The Gov. shut it off at 115MPH. That's bookin it for a explorer.
The rear independent shocks really helped the handling of the car and the way it rides.
It can take a turn really well. My friend has a 94 explorer, it can't take a turn nearly as well as the 02 explorer and the power between them is no caparison between the two.
It pulls our boat out of the water with no problems.
The interior is very roomy. Everyone has plenty of room. except for the people in the third row seat.
Its pretty good on gas if you drive it right. I got 19 miles to the gallon in the city plus country driving.
On the highway I got 22 with it.
The Leather quality is very good.
