What things have gone wrong with the car?
I have purchased Ford F150s since 1979. I have had good reliability out of all except my current 2004 supercrew.
While driving at 60 MPH, the truck started shaking violently. I could hardly hold on to the wheel. I resumed the trip and the violent shaking started again.
I took it to the dealer and they could find nothing wrong. The next day, it did it again. The shaking is violent. You have to pull off of the road. I did notice that it did the violent shaking on asphalt. I called the dealer and said that I was going to have to tow the truck in. They finally found (with the aid of a ford specialist) that the backing plate on the emergency brake was recalled and the replaced it. The emergency brake cable would bounce and pull the rear brake on while driving. No wonder I could not hold onto the wheel. Replaced Rotors, calipers, brakes, on front after complaint at 35,500 miles under warranty. I believe that the truck should have been recalled because of the vibrating brake cable... my last Ford.
General comments?
I do not trust Ford because of the violent vibration caused by the violent backing plate. Nice truck, but no more Fords for me.
