1991 Ford F150 XLT Lariat Ext cab 2wd review from North America
"Oil leaking Gas Hog"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
> signal light switch won't shut off on its own (common problem with these Fords)
> 14 MPG. with a good tail wind.
>Leaks more oil than ever (rear seal)
>A.I.R. pipe leaks (sounds like exhaust leak)
> Have to be on the ball when driving as truck likes to wander all over the road (Front end is tight though)
General comments?
Most things wrong with this truck are not its fault, the previous owner didn't maintain it properly. I knew this when I bought it (cheap) but the thing was in very good shape inside and out and looks good to boot, it has all the power options (and air) for that year and it all works (except signal switch) I planed to fix it up (all ready put 4 new Cooper Cobra 255 60's on it) but now that its leaking oil like the Exxon Valdez, (Started after 2 months) I don't feel much like putting more money into it. (Trans has to be pulled to replace seal) Bottom line, truck needs about $2500 put into it to get it where it needs to be, But that's all its worth. I guess I'll just keep dumping oil in for now.
