2007 Ford F150 XL review from North America
"I bought it cheap and it hasn't let me down."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The clock never has worked properly. Not since the day I drove it off the lot has it kept time. It loses about 5 minutes a month.
The alignment was awful from the factory. I started to wonder about it and a quick trip to a tire shop confirmed my suspicions.
It leaked power steering fluid - took it to the dealer and they fixed the seal under warranty.
General comments?
This truck gets awesome gas mileage - driven easily (60 on the interstate), I have gotten as high as 23 mpg, and I have it heavily loaded (off road bumper, camper shell, etc.)
The engine is powerful enough, if a bit loud. But it is a truck, you should expect that. I worry that the transmission is a weak spot - start off with a heavy load on a hill and you will smell the clutch burn.
The cab is quite roomy and comfortable, I love how much space there is behind the seats (this is a regular cab truck) for storage. The truck doesn't like curves, but I didn't buy it because I wanted a sports car. It handles a load and tows well, and that's really all I care about.
