1998 Ford F150 XL review from North America
"Dump'em after 4 yrs. B4 the $$$pit opens"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Rear axle seal leaked.
When really cold out, heater won't kick in.
Front wheel bearing blew not too long ago.
Just replaced fuel pump.
General comments?
A good towing truck for 2000lb boat or two horse trailer. This truck is great in the snow in 4x4 mode.
At 105000 k.m.'s everything still feels really tight, but wheel bearing and fuel pump replacement were pricey, (factoring in towing as well as removal of the gas tank to get to the fuel pump), so I'm seriously thinking about dumping the truck once the lease is up in a month, before it becomes a real money pit. I would still buy a new one never the less, but sell every 3 years. There aint no Japanese level of long term reliability designed into these babys. Might try a new Ranger for a coupla years instead this next round.
