1994 Ford F150 XL review from North America

Had to have 2 in-tank fuel pumps replaced, one at 7,497 miles. and one at 53,352 miles.

Exhaust gas sensor replaced at 16,460 miles.

Air bag contacts replaced at 53,352 miles.

Water pump replaced at 105,000 miles.

Both radius arm bushings replaced at 80,000 miles. One replaced at 112,851 miles.

Alternator replaced at 32,891 miles, another in 1998 and another in 2002.

Starter replaced at 125,000 miles.

Rear u-joint replaced in 2002.

It's had three batteries, which I take care of (and I don't buy cheap batteries).

I got the light-duty version of the F150. It has been up to every task I've put it to since new. It tows light (under 3,000 lb) trailers well, hauls the way-under-capacity loads I put in the bed, and drives well.

Gas mileage is good for a full-size pickup - 16 in town and 20 on the highway.

The air conditioner is first rate, and since August temps here get over 100, that's important.

The body has held up remarkably well. One of my neighbors commented yesterday that it looks new.

It handles crummy, rutted, steep roads well for a two-wheel drive and I've never gotten stuck. It has on/off road tires.

The only complaint I have, and I didn't realize it until I compiled the list above, is that it's had **way** too many things break prematurely, in my opinion.
