Most of the problem I have mentioned (there are probably a number that I have forgotten about as well) occured after the warranty had run out and I fully understand that. However There are some items such as the paint job problem which I brought to the attention of the dealership well over a year ago and had obviously been present while the truck was still under warranty. I have recieved no feedback from "Ford" except that they would take my comments and see if anyone else has had that problem. To date I have not heard from Ford and I am well aware of at least one local person who will be recieving a complete paint job for the same problem (much less so I must add) because his truck is still under warranty.
Another problem that doesn't seem to be too important to the Ford people is that I had a wheel bearing changed 13 months ago and it has failed again. I was told by a dealer representative that because the 1 year warranty on the part was up that I was out of luck. My argument is that there must be a problem with the part installed or the method of installation. Once again I was stonewalled by the dealer rep.
I will never purchase another Ford product and stongly advise anyone who is thinking of purchasing a new vehicle to check out not just the integrity of the product, but also the integrity of the company and the dealer.
I was wondering what kind of driving you did with this truck? Did you only drive it to work, commute, or did you do a lot of work with it? It just seems odd that all that stuff would happen to a truck after basic maintenance was performed.
I would that those who lodge such a complaint spend more time on the details of how they utilized the vehicle. How it was driven and for what purposes. Because it is highly suspect that all of these issues developed just outside warranty and all at once. The narrative itself leads one to believe that, even if only in the latter years, this vehicle was poorly maintained and roughly driven.
I would say that you got the lemon off the lot lol, or else it was written off and refurbished.
I have a 1993 F150, it has about 250,000 miles on it and things are jsut now starting to go bad on it, mainly just the brake systems.
