"Best damn truck in the world"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Altinator, brakes and u joint's. just basic stuff that needs replaced.

General comments?

A lot of the problems people have with theirs, are because they do not know how to take care of a car my truck has 116,000 miles on it and it runs better than trucks with 30,000 miles on them this is probably because the owner never changes the oil or flushes the radiator hell half you people spouting off about your trucks and cars probably do not know were the dipstick is!

Well said, all these owners complaining about there trucks having problems probably don't take care of them properly. do a standard oil change every three months and replace things as they get worn and it will last forever.

Taking care of a vehicle is the first step to owning one, if you think the brakes can wait don't wait, if you think the radiator doesn't need flushing every year do it anyway. Take care of a ford and it will last.

I agree with that comment about the dipstick. I don't own one of these trucks, but judging by the fact that there are many good reviews for the truck and just a couple terrible ones, I'd say these trucks are probably alright and that some of these people just don't know how to own vehicles. A vehicle will not take care of itself.

Or people used to poorly made American vehicles will put up with almost anything in the name of some sort of unearned loyalty towards their product of choice. I have heard some zealots claim that a head gasket and transmission were normal wear and tear items. Pretty much anything on the serpentine belt, shocks struts, and brakes is fair game within the first 150,000, but anything else is just shoddy design/manufacture, and really shouldn't be tolerated. It isn't like any of this technology is new to us Americans, yet somehow we seem to revel in our own mediocrity as the imports thrash us at our own game. Go celebrate when your truck rolls 200,000, I'll still be driving my truck just like it was the day I bought it.
