1998 Ford F150 XLT review from North America
"My F-150 has been a very reliable and comfortable workhorse"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The door sensor intermittently fails.
I had a check engine light indicating EGR "low flow"; replaced EGR valve, but problem persisted - eventually found carbon deposits in intake manifold, which when cleaned, resolved problem.
The only other maintenance has been oil changes, brakes (front only), and wiper blades.
General comments?
This vehicle has been a very reliable truck. I occasionally pull an 18.5 ft boat and have plenty of power in very hilly terrain. The mileage with city/highway mix is around 16+ but get 19-20 on the highway. I am still on two of my original tires! The truck handles great, and provides a very comfortable ride, while also easily handling an occasional load of topsoil.
