1983 Ford F150 explorer review from North America
"Best Truck Ever"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
There have been many things wrong with my truck, but hardly any of them were because of poor manufacturer. The carb needed rebuilt, the clutch went out,and the valve cover gasket needed replaced. The other problems were my fault. In 2002 I drove it off a cliff in the mountains and I cracked the transfer case, bent the rear drive shaft, broke the gas tank brace, dented the gas tank, and put a hole in rear axle and still drove it about 15 miles home. The body has rust though out it. It looks horrible, but runs great.
General comments?
I love this truck. It has been more dependable than anything I have ever driven. I tore this truck up and it was still good to me. I took it off-road almost everyday, and still drove it around town. This truck has the most torque I have ever seen, but with the 4-speed transmission it isn't a good highway truck.
