1991 Ford F150 XLT Lariat review from North America
"A great truck to rack up the miles on and work to death, provided you know a good alignment shop"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Replaced 7 alternators due to voltage regulator failures
Replaced 2 steering boxes due to seal leaks
Replaced front coils springs due to inability to align front end
Replaced all ball joints
Performed front-end alignment 15 times
Replaced power steering pump
Replaced power window motor
replaced power door lock
replaced leaky heater core.
General comments?
The 4.9 L six is the best engine ford ever produced, and has been perfect. The truck is a really dependable vehicle, with the exception of the twin-traction beam front-end, which is difficult to keep aligned and causes excessive tire wear. All other fixes were minor and relatively inexpensive. A great truck to rack up the miles on and work to death.
