1987 Ford F150 LX review from North America
"The best truck on the road, period!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I have had no major problems with this truck. There have only been two things to go wrong was a leaky radiator.
The timing gears stripped out at about 175,000 miles, during a long trip.
General comments?
This has been the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. The only time it has left me stranded was when the timing gears stripped out.
Even with this many miles, the truck is still capable of pulling anything I need it too.
It has had a hard life, pulling horse trailers, tractors, and race cars, and still runs well.
The four speed transmission is the only way to go for working. The original clutch didn't even wear out until about 180,000 miles!
