1979 Ford F150 RANGER XLT review from North America
"Excellent vehicle"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Dropped 3 valves, 2 axles, 1 transmission.
General comments?
Wonderful truck, built to work, yet comfortable on the inside. will handle anything you throw at it.
Truck was a 79 F-150 Ranger XLT extended cab, 4wd witht he stock 400M swapped for a 351C. It was in the family its whole life, and it was tragically ended one day by a ranger and a semi. Truck was hit head on at approx combined speed of 70MPH (truck 20mph, Semi 50mph) Semi destroyed truck, moved the fire wall 18 inches, ran over front drivers corner, drivewrs fender never was found (this happened in city limits!) drivers door was in 3+ pieces, broke engine block, trans case, x-case, drive shafts, ripped the frame apart. passenger door, rear windows, and.......thats all that was salvageable. My brother was not wearing a seat belt at the time (only one in the vehicle) and did not get injured. 1 serious bruise, and a few cuts, otherwise unscathed.
In short, this vehicle saved a life that day. if you have one, keep it, if you have a 4wd supercab, are you interested in selling?
