1983 Ford F150 review from North America
"A good truck for anyone who needs a REAL truck.."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Well, nothing really. U joints are my only complaint, but with a Bulldog Transmission and a 300 6 cylinder engine, I can understand it.
Body is in excellent shape, no rust, inside is damn near perfect.
General comments?
Its been a good truck in the time I've had it. The 300 6 cylinder Engine with a Bulldog 4sp combo, and 4.10 rear end gears will let this truck seriously pull a load and lug down, I can take off in 4th gear!
Around town it's a fun truck to eat off hondas light to light, the old 300 really has got the power off the line untill about 45 or so when you shift into 4th, then its kinda overwith. This truck tops at 84MPH.
It handles good and does really good in mud\snow for a 2wd, I got a set of BFG Mud Terrians and to date I've only been stuck once, and that was when I was muddin' with my buddy and buried it to the rocker panels. Put it in Bulldog Gear and Drop the Clutch, I can crawl up hills 4x4's can't.
My only complaint about the truck is the Leaf springs seem weak, but some add a leafs will fix that.
Just what a Truck should be, Reliable, Torquey, and tough looking.
