1997 Ford F150 XLT review from North America
"Wanna buy a 1997 F-150 (JUNK!)"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
33,000 head gasket cracked
35,000 valves tap very loudly (not good at 35,000)
36,000 rear differential (shattered pinion)
36,500 engine electrical problems (still confused)
41,000 transmission lockup
46,000 upper and lower ball joints
Terrible towing power engine bogs a lot
low horsepower, very low torque
Do not put any aftermarket mods on this truck my EDGE performance chip caused tons of transmission problems
very weak truck!
General comments?
I will be a ford fan until I die, but this truck has given me more problems than I can handle. I am disappointed, my other ford truck 1995 F-150 5.8 has 217,000 miles on it and runs like a dream (no problems with this truck) $1600 in engine mods should have done a lot more than 25 hp. I have heard many complaints on the late 90's f-150's. I guess this was just a bad time for Ford, it's a disgrace to Ford So does anybody want to buy a 1997 Ford F-150?
My mods:
EDGE performance chip
MAC cold air intake
dynomax dual exhaust
FORD Racing throttle body
Autometer tach, water temp, oil pressure guages
