2006 Ford F150 Lariat review from North America

"It's a truck, nothing more, nothing less"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I don't know if you can call this a "problem," but one of the windows doesn't roll down as fast as the others.

So, basically nothing.

General comments?

Well, I don't know. I like it... A lot. To me, it's the prettiest truck to ever roll off an assembly line, and knowing that it can take some serious abuse without failing is a good feeling to have. The 5.4 is amazing, plenty of power at any speed, tons of low-end grunt. It does, however, like its fuel. I get about 15 in the city and oh, say, about 18-21 on the highway, which isn't bad at all, but it generally likes fuel. This is the only reaosn why I gave it a 7/10 for costs. It would be a 10 because I have not had to put a dime into it for repairs, just how I like it. So far, I have moved 3 people, hauled boulders to my house for a project, carried a tree root of all things, and something else with large proportions. It seemed to handle it very well; it remained stable and still had plenty of reserve power. I got it fully loaded, and I paid around $37 for it. My wife likes it, which is a MAJOR plus because she likes her timid Cadillac boat cars. I also have an Excursion, with the diesel. I, so far use it for towing my boat and RV around. That too, is a wonderful vehicle and fits the token for a large family with active needs. I have yet to tow with this truck, and I need to soon before I go nuts. I HAVE had it off road, and well, it SANK. It didn't get stuck, but I could feel it digging in and sinking. During that trip (2 weeks ago) I scraped a huge branch and left a nice scratch along the bedside. It's getting fixed soon. I don't think I want to take it serious off roading anymore, and I feel stupid for doing so in the first place. It's still too new for that. I've had some pretty god luck with Fords, and I'm sure that sometime or another I will be getting that new hog F-450 to haul around my CAT. and my daughter's show horses. The Excursion even grunted a lot towing the trailer. The F-150 just simply isn't BIG ENOUGH to tow it, so I'll leave it to the smaller stuff, but not too small as that would be insulting. The inside is by far the nicest I've ever seen in a truck, everything's just so... plush and smooth. It has a pretty damn good ride in it too, which is nice because it's my commuter vehicle.

I'll report back when I tow something, and we'll see how it does.
