Just got back from bringing it home. it was free and the guy said I could have it if I came and got it right away. sat for 10 months, dead battery. once the battery could turn over the engine it started after 2 tries. no missing or smoke. exhaust was ticking though. overall good condition, strait body with red primer coat. no rust. no dents. the steering column is destroyed, but still can be steered just the steering wheel sits in my lap. everything works. it stalled a few times on me though coming to a stop and is really lagging from take-off. likes to sputter if given too much gas... unless I floor it. the bed is full of junk and covered with a junk canopy. dump next. I plan for this to be my hunting truck. I have no idea how many miles are on it either. no key too. and the starter sounds horrid, it makes a screeching sound. the carb is all gummed up and I bet the tranny fluid is low. within the next few days I'm gonna service it. brakes are pretty grabby too. came with no air filter. other than the steering column, the interior is perfect, no rips, scratches, and the headliner is still perfect. black rims. lockers all around, stock. gas guzzling son of a gun. will report in a few weeks and see how its doing.
Sounds much like some of my experiences. these old trucks just don't quit. they might be a little rough when neglected, but they fix up well.
