2003 Ford F350 Lariat review from North America
"A high performance diesel, with some rough edges that still need to be worked out"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
ICP sensor failure (causes rough idle and surging stops and starts) at 940 miles.
ICP sensor failure again at 1400 miles (Ford revised the ICP after I got a new "old style" one installed)
Numerous Software updates have been issued for this truck, though updates are only installed if you have a problem. I've had 2 PCM re-flashes with updated software.
General comments?
The 2003 model trucks still have what I call "ford wonder" steering. It isn't a pull, but more of a loose / sloppy stearing responce sort of feeling that requires constant driver imput.
I'm getting noticeably more wind noise then the 2001 ford SD's had, but I'm not sure if maybe it's just more noticeable due to the engine being so much quieter then the 7.3 Power Stroke Diesel.
