2005 Ford Falcon EGas MKII review from Australia and New Zealand
"Simply the best for its price, no wonder it was car of the year"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Fuel gauge became inaccurate - 90000km $150 fix.
Hasn't had a problem since bought. One service so far.
General comments?
Ex Wespac fleet car when I bought it from auctions. $13000 @ 74000 km.
Great performance for an LPG car, about same as an EA petrol Falcon.
Large 90lt LPG fuel tank, does 600km on one tank.
10lt/100km on freeway, 14lt/100km in city.
Boot space is too small due to a spare tire hogging 1/4 of room.
Audio system is good, great to see AUX in for ipod on a factory radio. (Cable is $8 on ebay)
Very comfortable drive, transmission is very smooth. When braking however the transmission engine brakes for you a little roughly.
Steering is a joy on freeways, but clumsy at low speed. Parking and turning in city feel unnatural. Same goes for visibility.
Computers are set to not let you over stress/ break the car in any way, great for making it live long but unexciting. ie you won't be able to get a decent drag launch from it unless you take your car to a tuning shop.
Rooooooomy, very comfortable for everyone when carrying 5 passengers.
