1993 Ford Falcon XR6 review from Australia and New Zealand

"This car is reliable and trustworthy performance car"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

My power steering pump started to leak at 195 000.

My water pump died at 210 000 and made my clutch fan

seize.

General comments?

No matter what problem this car had, it always got me home or to the mechanic without needing a tow truck.

I beat BA XR6s and VE SV6s with it in races.

It cornered on rails I ran it on 205/65R15 Pirelli Dragons, should have ran it on 225s.

The front seats are a little hard and unforgiving as you first get into the car, but once settled in I found them pretty comfortable.

I ran the car on BP Ultimate. I went on a long drive from Ipswich to Yamba and back again, totaling 750 Km on 1 tank of fuel.

The MOMO steering wheel gave the nicest feeling of any steering wheel I've felt.

After one major service, I found the car was even faster.

The car's handling package was fantastic. I avoided a total of about 10 near misses of people either crashing into one another or pulling out in front of me without looking or indicating.

The car was safe; I wrote the car off at 220 000 after I avoided a car that pulled out in front of me, I swerved and accidentally forced the car to slide into a power pole at 60KPH+. The pole hit between the passenger front wheel and the Tickford badge on the quarter panel, there was no damage to the interior, and if I had a passenger in the car at the time they would have been fine. I came out of the crash with 2 sore ankles, a sore knee and a saw arm. To this day, I and those who witnessed the crash do not know how I managed to miss the car that pulled out in front of me.
