1987 Ford Falcon XF from Australia and New Zealand - Comments

"Old Fords never die, just don't buy a lemon"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

-Alternator packed it in, replaced brushes.

-Blown radiator hose.

-Exhaust system rusted to buggery.

-Odometer broken.

-Idler arm continually wearing.

-4spd gearbox is stuffed, mainly from hooning and engine breaking from 100 ks in 2nd.

-Door handles snap off like clockwork, mainly because of dodgy lock mechanisms.

General comments?

-Built like a tank, could drive through a house and only have scratched paintwork.

-Over the years, no matter whats been wrong with it, she'll keep on kicking.

-I have it on duel fuel, amazingly economical on gas.

-Great cruiser, overtakes like a dream, plenty of high end torque.

-Having a wide wheelbase, it sticked to the rode like glue, even on bald tires.

-Legroom is ample, plenty of room for rubbish in the back seat.
