1993 Ford Festiva GL review from North America
"All around great commuter car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Minor leaks through seat belt track when it rains (or when I go through a car-wash).
Squeaks a bit from the rear.
I'd say the only bad thing that has happened is that Ford discontinued the Festiva in the US (and from what I understand we can't order the Kia Pride from Korea even though it's the same car).
General comments?
This is my 2nd Festiva; doesn't have all the bells and whistles my original had, but has been consistently reliable.
The Festiva is great for running around town especially when shopping or "garage saling"; I also use it when buying large items to repair my house. With the rear seat down there's plenty of cargo room.
The gas mileage on this car is great; I was tempted to put 40+MPG on my rear window just to annoy all the SUV owners during the recent gas crunch.
One more thing I really like about the Festiva is the "headroom"; I sit very tall and in many cars my head grazes the ceiling. I still have a few inches left in this car.
I'd really like to keep this car as long as I can; I'm hoping it'll survive it's next smog check.
