1995 Ford Fiesta Si 16v from UK and Ireland - Comments

I have owned a Fiesta Si for a year! I sold the car a few months ago.

I agree the front seats are excellent, and the performance is good for 1.6! Mine was really bad on fuel until I put some injector cleaner in with the fuel!

I now own a RS1800 but I prefer the Si bumpers! The RS has the same seats as the Si, which is good! But not good on fuel/insurance, but that's probably because it has a modified engine! Performance is excellent on the RS! I prefer the RS and wouldn't swap it!

You should have recaro's in your rs 1800 not si seats, I'm sadly getting rid of my si for an xr2i 1800 just wanted more power the 1.6 16v si has rubbish tuning potential I think I prefer the rs turbo and xr2i styling they look more aggressive, the si has been extremly reliable for me, great first car, but I'm starting to get frustrated from being beaten by other cars eg those f***** saxo vts, I'm tuning the xr2i with rs 1800 ecu, throttle bodies etc though I would definetly recommend an si 16v if you can insure it.

My step son has a 1.6si when he got it it was a low mileage 1 owner from new full history minter, I agree with a lot of the comments made yes the 2i does look dated altho its retro now, but from a standing start my 130tho 8v 2i is faster, 1st and 2nd the si can match my 2i but from 3rd the 2i's power and torque does start to show and it pulls away.

But before I get slagged off, I must say the si is a more refined car to drive its a lot smoother and as standered it handles better, it al depends on what your looking for in a car, I personaly prefer the 2i but I do like the si I've had a 1.4 si in the past that was also good but not a patch on the 1.6 and only group 8 insurance ita a lot better than most of the hot haches like the saxo ect.
