During the time I have had my car I have had to replace the fuel line due to corrosion and the front two tyres due to uneven wear.
Currently I am having problems in damp weather with the tick-over, I have had to set it so high (to prevent it from stalling at traffic lights and at junctions) that it sounds like I am challenging my fellow motorists at the lights to a race, just yesterday the alternator packed in and I am seriously considering putting a new engine in to keep me going until I can afford a new car.
This car being my first, and also the type of car I learnt to drive in I am probably biased, but I have to say that I absolutely love this car. The cabin is a bit dated, but the upholstery on the seats is in fantastic condition without a tear or rip anywhere.
It still cleans brilliantly and hasn't speck of rust anywhere on it. I actually prefer to drive my car than my Mums 1998 Vauxhall Corsa Breeze and will definitely be getting a new Fiesta as soon as I leave University and can afford it.
Even when I get my new car I would love to be able to keep my old Fiesta, I am so proud to be able to have one and think of it like an faithful old friend.
I agree! I own a 93 festiva (USA) and simply luv it. 150K miles on it (got it with 19K) and it still runs like a champ. I too have problems getting the car to start in damp weather. I have to keep the key turned for almost 10 minutes with the gas pedal down, and then it turns over. but my fav. car!
