2003 Ford Fiesta LX review from UK and Ireland
"A great all rounder with excellent performance"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
No faults to date.
General comments?
The main reason I purchased a ford fiesta is because of my previous experience with them.
The car is a great improvement over the older version.
The car looks fantastic in panther black, however is very hard to keep clean as it shows up dust like a spot light.
The car is a semi automatic which allows me to use automatic transmission when I feel lazy and allows me to switch to manual when I am feeling sportier. The gears are very smooth when changing however they are a little slow.
The comfort is the best I have known of any car I have driven with plenty of room in the back.
The 1.4 engine is very nippy indeed however there is a lot of road noise as you reach 70mph (which you will reach very quickly).
The only downside when I purchased the car was that I was not impressed with the cheap looking, plastic wheel trims that were supplied with the LX. I did however replace these with alloy trims that you can purchase from Halfords for about £50. It was a great improvement as the car now looks very sporty indeed.
