1995 Ford Fiesta Si review from UK and Ireland
"Excellent handling car marred by age and problems"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Low compression (failed compression test should have been 160 psi, but was below 100)
interior falling apart (due to age)
missfiring
lazy starting.
Air leak.
Fueling problem as plugs were covered in black soot, was also drinking oil.
Gearbox bearings on way out (speedo wobbling at 30mph)
Sills rusting thorugh due to standing water that gets in and lies on the sill when door is opened.
General comments?
Excellent handling, although this example was lowered and had 15" alloys on.
Nice interior,
brilliant seats.
No power below 4000rpm then pulled like a train, was very quick, but was down on power as mentioned above, but didn't notice as I came from a 1.2 corsa.
Leccy windows.
