A week after I bought it the ignition barrel needed sorting out. The key would not turn round.
The alternator overcharged burning out the electrics and draining the battery totally and left me stranded! Smoke from steering wheel as result.
Again smoke from steering wheel when electrical fault appeared in wiper arms. Needed to be replaced.
Oil light flicked on and off. Garage said all of these problems were probably related to bad electrics.
Steering went just before I got rid of it!
This car is a lovely looking car and very comfortable and nippy but many electrical faults.
I too have had the same problem with my fiesta sapphire with the ignition barrel - the key wold not turn leaving me stranded overnight at a petrol station. at the moment my carburetor is playing up and my exhaust just burst. the car is really nice looking, but there are problems galore!
