1992 Ford Fiesta LX review from UK and Ireland

The only proplem I had with the car was that the fan belt was slipping when first bought. Other than that, the engine was fine because of the very low mileage. The car had been sitting for a while and so the body had started to rust. Badly! I Only bought the car for a cheap 'run-a-round' intill I saved enough money to buy my new T5 yaris. The problem with 'most' Fords aged from 1980 to 1995 is the poor qulity of the metal panels they used on all cars in this year. Plus a poor paint job which faded after 3 years!! Especaily the colour RED which then turns PINK. Not good if you're a lad. If looking to buy one, check the seals under the doors and steering rack. Also on the 5 doors, the fuel refilling area can also be full of rust because of the poor design of the fuel tank. Petrol goes everywhere!

Very slow on performance as the car was screaming at 90mph and then I got overtook by a Transit van!!! But, no matter what I did, I couldn't get the back end out of line. I even had it on 3 wheels and my mate behind following was well empressed. Even that the ride is very spongey, overall the isn't that bad. Ideal for someone who has just passed their driving test because the car is slow and the insurance is afFORDable! The biggest problem about this car is that people like to steal these cars and it is very easy to do so, so make sure it is in a garage over night.
