2007 Ford Five Hundred SEL 2WD review from North America
"Time Will Tell.."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
My power window switches on both drivers side doors had to be replaced due to them being intermittent. Front switch even took a few attempts prior to getting the window to go up.
Rear rugs have loose strings already and I have had few passengers in the rear.
Fuel injector tick (normal according to the TSB) is louder than is necessary or reasonable.
Blower motor sounds like something is flapping within it (normal according to my dealership)
Brakes became noisy after first oil change. Dealership advises that Ford engineering has a "fix" and that new equipment will be available this month. TSB has been issuued.
General comments?
Fuel mileage is excellent for this size of car. It beats that of a Taurus, according to fueleconomy.gov.
Styling is second to none and I am shocked that Ford has not sold more of these units.
Roominess is also second to none, especially for the price range this car falls into.
The problems I have explained above do not leave any owner with a good taste of Ford products. A new vehicle should not have these problems, and there is no excuse, considering I have not purchased a first year manufacture car. I am quite upset that the fuel injector tick is considered normal as this is crude.
