2002 Ford Focus review from North America
What things have gone wrong with the car?
A bunch of things, but the one big problem which upsets me is one night I was driving the headlights went out and the battery light came on. After taking a while checking the car I had found the problem. The wiring harness where its plugged and goes to the headlamps, that had rotted out. This was caused by the battery. The residue that builds up on the terminals and gone down below the battery and spread on the wiring harness plug which is under the battery.
General comments?
This corrosion on the harness would have been prevented if it was not located under the battery, or a shield could of been made on this car to prevent this problem, corroding the harness. Not only the design was very poor which can result in headlight failure and could cause serious injuries, but this big problem should have been a recall on the 2002 Focus.
