2001 Ford Focus review from North America

Nightmare on wheels.

It all started out with the Check engine light coming on once in awhile. Well they never could figure that one out then the dash started having electrical problems. The did manage to fix that. I've already had to brakes and rotors replaced on this car and it has under 20,000 miles. Well for a small time nothing else happened and then it started to get hard to start and then it wouldn't start at all, once again it was towed back to Ford... they claimed to fix the thing the very next morning the battery was dead! Ford here we come again. The whopper though was at 17,000 miles I was stopped in traffic and the automatic transmission decides that it wants to die on me and that was that and it was towed once again to Ford and the transmission was replaced.

This car is an abortion, it's a nightmare on wheels. It's the worst thing I've ever owned in my life including a 1986 Yugo GV that I had for a very short time. Hell, the Yugo is like a Honda compared to this Ford piece of crap. I had a 1995 Ford Aspire before this and when I traded the car in it had 142,000 miles and not once had that car failed me, somehow I let a Ford con man trick me into trading that little Aspire for this pile of trash. Their service is awful they leave you on hold forever not to mention hassle you about the warranty. Stay away from Ford its not worth it. their cars are nothing but trouble.
