"Good except for one engine problem"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Just got a "P 0340" engine code error. Dealer cannot find the problem, but computer now says everything is OK. Hope problem went away!

Anyone had a similar problem? Car stalled and would only start and run for 30 seconds or so. "Check engine" light came on thankfully. Supposedly indicated a "Cam Sensor" issue according to the dealer. Towed to dealer today, Apr 29, 2008.

Any suggestions? Otherwise I like the van very much.

P0340 is your cam sensor. Usually when that part goes bad the synchronizer has to be replaced as well. I had that problem with my tbird. They said that the new sensor would only last about 3 weeks because the synchronizer was bad as well. It would eat the new sensor up. When I saw the old synchronizer I saw that it was in bad shape. I paid 600 for the repair. I was driving the car like that for 3 yrs. I had to get it fixed because of the new state inspection that goes through the obd 02 connector. I haven't had a problem since and that was about three years ago. Hope that the info helps. Sometimes the code goes away until it gets really bad. Just get documentation stating that you reported this problem.
