Rear brakes replaced at 40,000; front "glazed".
Love the vehicle;physically it is perfect for my real estate career. Lots of headroom front and back.
Lots of carrying capacity (real estate signs, etc.)
But.
Mechanic says rear brake pads wouldn't stop a motorcycle they're so small. Replaced them at 40K.
Front brakes will soon need attention;surface is glazed; have only 40K miles-mostly highway! I don't have a heavy foot.
Brake pads wear down and replacing them is simple. This is a heavy vehicle, that is why it has all wheel disc brakes.
Most cars have their brakes replaced every 35000 miles, so replacing your brakes with 40000 miles on the car is normal.
Don't listen to your mechanic. Rear brakes are always smaller than the front because the front brakes take most of the load under braking. And like others have said, don't fault the car for normal wear items like brakes. You don't fault a car for having to change the oil, do you? Exactly.
