1999 Ford Ka review from Italy
"A small and cheap fun car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing except usual wear.
General comments?
I bought this car before my last year of University.
I bought it in Italy a week before leaving. The dealer was excellent by giving me the car in 4 days.
I must admit that I was about to buy it on the Internet. All I had seen before buying it was the 3D inside view on the web site. I liked it straight away.
The first thing I did with the car was to travel for 1600 kilometers (1000 miles) from Bergamo, Italy to London, UK.
All the trip was made at a speed between 80 and 100 kmh (50-60 mph).
So the engine has received the best of treatments during the first miles. Now it performs better than expected. It handles brilliantly and really is fun to drive in town.
I have done another trip back to Italy so far, and it has performed even better. Now is time for another trip back to the UK. I am sure it will be a nice experience.
Only let down is that since the shape of the headlights is so weird, I cannot redirect them to point left. So when soon I will need to have an MOT done I will need to go for a day trip to France and have it done by a French dealer. Oh well, more booze in the fridge I guess! :-)
