2005 Ford Ka 1 review from UK and Ireland
"Basic nippy reliable town motoring"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Intermittent fogged up head lights.
Contaminants in the engine oil (grit).
Spongy feel break peddle.
General comments?
I've owned the car from new.
Dealers not interested with head light fogging up problem, said if the fog clears when the lights are on then Ford won't repair or replace them under warranty.
There's around an 1" 1/2 play in the break pedal, common trait apparently. Again dealer not interested.
Had my oil changed after 2 weeks due to grit in the oil.
Disappointing radio cassette, fitted as standard for a 2005 base model KA. Who uses cassettes these days?
Now experiencing some dashboard rattles whilst driving on the motor way.
On the more positive note.
Economical basic car.
Nippy 70 bhp duratec engine.
Easy to use gearbox.
Handling excels around country lanes.
Excellent town car.
Very easy to park.
Good on petrol.
Cheap to service.
No major faults so far.
Fun to drive car.
Happy with the car on a whole, just don't like the soft feel of the break pedal.
