1985 Ford Laser KC review from Australia and New Zealand

"Zippy little car with performance to match any other small-car around today!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The clutch is starting to age a little bit (Although it provides great

double-clutching practice to try and keep it going)

Air filter has been replaced, as has the oil filter.

No major problems as yet.

General comments?

Having received this car around a year ago, when I hit 18, I quickly found that it was easy to get into and to drive around.

The always-ready nature of the car makes it perfect for a first car or as a run-about, or delivery car for businesses.

The performance that you get out of it is equal to even some of todays cars, remembering that this car is 17/18 years old!

The seating is more than adequate, and all the cars controls are within easy reach, which makes adjustments while driving more of a treasure-able moment than a task.

The gears slide in and out without a problem, although I've found that after a few too many hard gear changes that both second and fourth gears are sometimes a bit harder to select, although it's a minor gripe.

The interior of the car is perfect for the young (And young at heart) to mess around with the stereo system. I've disabled the factory speakers and replaced then, plus the head unit, with aftermarket parts, and the results speak for themselves, no-one expects a granny-carrier to have as loud a stereo as it does, and there's still stacks of room for improvement!

Overall, a cheap and easy to both run and drive car that's perfect for everyone, and not to mention the ability to mess around with it, given it's age.

10 out of 10 every time.
