1984 Ford Laser KB review from Australia and New Zealand
"A cheap first car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Head gasket blew, pretty easy to do if your temperature gauge doesn't work properly.
Loose seats, seat bolts were lost and threaded so they couldn't be replaced.
Denting, body dented very easily.
General comments?
This car is a great first car. Very light on petrol - getting around 350km to a tank. A tank usually costs about $27 at 95 cents a litre.
Although it is pretty small, the seats are very comfortable, well in the front anyway. If the driver is tall, or has long legs, then there is no leg room left in the back.
I got this for my first car and it served me well. Very reliable, does pretty good burnouts for such a small car.
Because of it's size and lack of support, i.e. impact bars in doors and so on, it doesn't hold up too well in a crash.
