1995 Ford Mondeo Ultima Estate review from UK and Ireland
"A lot of car, a lot of problems for the money"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Electrical and ignition problems within four hours of getting the car home. Problems eventually traced to moisture in fuse boxes.
New transmission at 53000 miles.
New radiator at 56000 miles.
Booked in for exploration of ignition problems. Engine cuts out when hot.
Oil leaks, coolant leaks.
General comments?
Overall a very unreliable "Friday afternoon" special. In the two years we've owned this car the warranty repairs probably total £4000.
However, when she's running she's smooth, handles really well and is very spacious and comfortable.
If we hadn't bought the three year warranty, though, she would have bankrupted us.
