Coil Pack went wrong on 20000 miles.
Suspension arm snapped at motorway speeds. Lethal.
Fuel filters block.
Won't start if temperature exceeds 23 degrees.
Dash board lights keep blowing.
Gearbox rebuild.
3 Clutches since ownership. Do not drive with foot resting on pedal as ford dealers suggest.
I would think a plastic pig three wheeler is more reliable than this excuse for a vehicle.
Mr Clarkson please don't slag off Vectras.
Look as these heaps.
I think back to the old Ford advert.
FORD GIVES YOU MORE. Yeah trouble...
Funny, I had a 1997 2.0 LX from new as a company car. I put 120,000 miles on it in three years and it never let me down. The only faults were a clogged pollen filter (I suspect this was a dealer cock up rather than the car) and a vacuum leak on the EGR system which made it idle roughly. It's just had normal 10,000 mile services and certainly no special treatment.
I bought it off the lease company (for peanuts) when they took it back and my wife is still driving it now. It's now done 165,000 miles and has added only a blown brake light bulb and a duff electric window switch to its fault tally. It's even still on the original clutch.
