2000 Ford Mondeo LX Verona review from UK and Ireland
"Very average"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Water leaks into the boot in heavy rain, there is also a water leak into the passenger compartment when the car is put through automatic car washes.
Steering faults developed at 38 000 miles. The Ford dealer has been unable to locate problem.
Leaks although minor are very annoying and persistent. They are sealed only to leak again in a few months.
Also usual Ford problem of worm "brushes" on suspension which cost approx £100 at MOT to have replaced.
General comments?
Generally Mondeo is a sound car which is let down by minor faults.
Fuel consumption is good.
Performance is satisfactory.
Parts are generally inexpensive, but my experience of Ford dealers is not good.
Zetec engine is noisy and unrefined, especially at low-medium speeds.
