1993 Ford Mondeo Si review from UK and Ireland
"Can be turned into a real 'Q' car!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Not much really has gone wrong, clutch went at around 105000 miles, costly to fix. Around £400. Although found out Si has a lighter clutch than other mondeo's!
Drivers front electric window sticking, but easy DIY repair.
Handle for sunroof snapped off, causing problems in this hot weather!! no air con here!!!
General comments?
As I cannot afford to insure a car that's seriously quick, have opted for fairly generously equipped mondy, been Chipped and K&N air filter been bolted on. Power up from 136 to 151. Runs best on shell optimax.
Seats are nice and supportive, have covered 400 miles and no bother with back, comfy!
Will cruise quite happily at 90. pulls like a train even at that speed!!
Having chipped has increased torque of car, can be driven very sedately, improved MPG from around 25 urban to around 30. If driven properly...
No foot rest though!
