2000 Ford Mondeo Zetec S review from UK and Ireland

Air con unit had to be fixed by the dealer.

The clutch feels sticky might need replacing soon??

The inside cabin feels cheap compared to the Nissan I had before. But everything works and is in the right place. The standard CD/Radio definatly should be upgraded.

Factory fitted body kit really makes this car stand out from all the other mondeo's. The 2.0 Zetec engine is surprisingly good, and responsive. Considering fitting an after market induction kit, but it sounds pretty good already, especially when driven hard in 2nd/3rd gear. Shame the "Zetec Zone" only starts above 4K RPM, but very addictive non the less.

For a big family car it handles very well with tons of grip, though if pushed hard it can catch you out.. especially on wet round abouts :-) Haven't had to use the traction control yet, not really sure its needed on a car with only 130BHP. The brakes are good, but the car feels nervous on heavy breaking.

Overall a pretty good 2nd hand buy, especially its only Group 10 insurance, and can fit 3 proper adults in the back. Am really suprised at how good this car is, can't wait untill am 25 so that I can insure a ST220 :-)
