2000 Ford Mustang GT review from North America

Total engine failure based on poorly designed parts. The timing Chain tensioners started to make a ticking noise in the front passenger side of the engine. I took it to the dealer who could not diagnose the problem without tearing the whole front of the engine down. I opted to fix it myself. I removed the front cover and the entire chain tensioner/guide assembly was smashed into 1000 pieces (they are plastic) The timing chain had been rubbing up against the plastic (as designed) and eventually ate through the plastic and started shaving the aluminum tensioner arms and tensioners.. Thus leaving millions of metal shavings in my oil, hence the total engine failure. I replaced the parts (with ford parts) drove 10 miles down the road and lost all oil pressure (due to the shavings clogging all the oil passages)... Now I need a motor.

The Power steering leaks into the drivers side CV boot somehow.. Still haven't figured that one out..

Other than that the car is GREAT. I am a glutten for punishment and will probably buy another one.. I have owned several sports cars and this was by far the most fun for the money.. (300zx, mazda Rx-7, ect..)

Love the styling, Love the sound.. Love the torque..

Hate the fact that the parts were built to fail...
