2001 Ford Mustang GT review from North America
"Great... but a police magnet"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When I first got the car it had a misfire in the engine. Found out that it was a bad coil. Replaced it myself; the part was $50 and about 15 min of work. It happened about 3 more times, all on other cylinders.
Had to have the gas filler neck replaced it was leaking gas at the tank (bad gasket) $250.
At about 70,000mi it blew a spark plug out of the head. Just put another one in it, then about 5,000mi down the road it did it again and it stripped all the threads out of the head. Cost me $350 to have the head threads rethreaded from Ford.
The mach sound system 6 CD player went out on me at about 70Kmi on it. Replaced it with new one and it worked again.
The seats are not very comfortable (never could find a seat position that I liked).
General comments?
Other than the little problems I had with the car, it was a very reliable car. Started every time I got in it. Very powerful and fast car.
Did alright on gas (as long as you keep your foot from pressing the gas pedal all the way down).
It handled great and took the turns great.
Put an exhaust on this car and it will turn heads. It is a car that I will not forget.
