"Mustangs rule"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I have had absolutely no problems with my car.

It has a brand new everything.

General comments?

This car has some serious power that most people never feel when they are driving a car.

It has a 302 small block V8 with tubed headers and straight pipe custom exhaust system (3inch pipes). A new ford C4 racing transmission with a shift kit. I got 5 star pony mags for it and low profile tires. Full ground effects and new paint.

This is the best car that I have ever owned in my lifetime and I plan to put in a new 302 long block GT-40 in the near future and a super-charger. I was thinking about the 4:10 gears but I don't want to stress out the car too badly for I want to keep it around for a while, and besides there aren't many cars on the road that can beat me anyway.

It sounds like you have a very nice car. I have an '88 5.0 302,automatic with a shift kit, lower gears, new underdrive pulleys, and 2 1/2 in. flowmasters, and 355 gears. Runs mid 14's w/o any mods. done to engine. believe it would run faster if it had a better tranny. As AOD sucks. My daughter which is 16 is on her permit which is driving the car and is hers.otherwise the car would have a lot more things done to it. My daughter wants a supercharger added, but I don't know if she could handle it. I am thinking about installing a C4 but no one in my area has ever done it and would like to know all that is involved in insatlling one. here is my e-mail address: klb302@nfdc.net in live in PA. Thanks.

I have a 1988 mustang 5.0 coupe with a 5-speed transmission. The mods I have so far include a cold air intake, headers, off road h-pipe, mac cat back exhaust, black magic electric fan, under drive pulleys,3:55 gears, tremic t-5 speed transmission with a pro 5.0 shifter. The car has no factory power options and I remove the spare tire and jack so the car is as light as it could be for the track. I ran the car about 20 times in phoenix at firebird international raceway. This car has 115,000 miles with a stock engine and ran 13.50,13.60,13.70,13.50 with brand new 265/50/15 inch bfg comp t/a's. There were other mustangs there running 14.20 with a similar combo. If you run 92 octane fuel with the timing at 14 degrees advance with my very basic bolt ons these cars will run 13 second times. It was a lot of fun helping the young kids making there cars faster and really surprising the ss camaros running 13.80's. These 88-93 5.0's are the fastest cars you can buy for the money. I have owned 5 of these cars and always had nothing, but good luck with all of them. I can't wait to see what the car will do with a set of bfg drag radials. I think 13.20's!!!
